By using AceCalc (acecalc.com), you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language so you can actually read them.
What AceCalc Is
AceCalc provides free online calculators for estimating construction materials. The formulas and density tables come from published industry sources including ACI 318, ASTM C33, the Portland Cement Association, the Asphalt Institute, and manufacturer technical data sheets (Quikrete, Sakrete, and others).
Not Professional Advice
AceCalc is an educational and estimating tool. It is not a substitute for professional advice from a licensed engineer, contractor, or architect. Always verify material estimates with your supplier and account for site-specific conditions — soil, drainage, compaction, structural load — before ordering or pouring.
No Warranty
The calculators are provided "as is" with no guarantees of accuracy for every possible scenario. While every formula is grounded in published industry data, real-world conditions vary. Soil compaction, subgrade quality, waste patterns, supplier specifications, and local code requirements differ by region and project.
You are responsible for the decisions you make based on the output of any calculator on this site, including material ordering, structural sizing, and project planning.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AceCalc and Daniel McCarney shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the site — including but not limited to material ordering errors, project delays, short loads, long loads, cost overruns, or structural outcomes.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, mirror, or redistribute the site's content, formulas, or code without permission.
- Use automated tools to place excessive load on the site.
- Represent AceCalc output as professional engineering or construction advice.
Using the calculators for real projects — whether DIY or commercial — is fine and encouraged. That's what they're for.
Copyright
Content on AceCalc (text, explanations, article copy, formulas as expressed in code) is copyright Daniel McCarney. The underlying math is drawn from public industry references and is not itself copyrighted.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the state in which AceCalc's operator resides. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction.
